  1. Thank you for buying PGA TOUR 96 and welcome to the installation program.
  2. I know you probably can't wait to play the game, but before you can play
  3. PGA TOUR 96, you must set up the audio for the game, and install certain
  4. files that must reside on your hard drive.

  6. About This Installation Program
  7.  
  8. In each screen of the installation program you will be asked to make
  9. choices about the audio or files you wish to install for the game.
  10. If at anytime you do not understand the choices being presented to you,
  11. simply press F1 to display the help file for that screen.  Pressing any
  12. key in the help screen will take you back to the choices.
  13. On certain screens there is a test button that allows you to test the
  14. choices that you make.  We recommend that you use the test button whenever
  15. it is available.  Installation file sizes are approximate and indicate the
  16. amount of hard disk space required.

  18. About CDs

  20. PGA TOUR 96 is designed to support Course CDs in the future, so you should
  21. be able to remove and replace or change your CD on the Courses Menu after
  22. clicking the Course Cd button.  Wait for the CD drive access light to go
  23. off before removing a CD, and after inserting a CD wait until the access
  24. light stops blinking before clicking on anything.  PGA TOUR 96 is designed
  25. to run on at least double-speed CD-ROM Drives. Stuttering videos and
  26. flybys indicate that the CD drive is too slow. For more information
  27. on CD problems, see the "CD Problems" section of the reference card.

  29. About Sound Cards

  31. Changing sound cards will require re-installation of PGA TOUR 96 to change
  32. the sound card settings.

  34. About Video Cards

  36. PGA TOUR 96 requires a VESA compatible SVGA video card capable of
  37. 640x480 resolution with 256 colors.For more information on video problems see the
  38. "Video Problems" section of the reference card.

  40. About Memory

  42. PGA TOUR 96 requires at least 7,500,000 bytes of available memory to run.
  43. Use the DOS command "mem /c" to check the amount of available memory on
  44. your system.  For information on how to free up memory on your system,
  45. see the "Memory Problems" section of your reference card.  PGA TOUR 96
  46. also requires at least 3Mb of temporary hard disk storage.

  48. About Lap-tops

  50. You can run without a CD if you install AT LEAST the following onto your
  51. hard disk; 1) ALL of the golfers you will be using (install any pros you wish
  52. plus all 4 of the amateur golfers).  2) At least one course.  3) the User
  53. Interface files and 4) the Menu Screen files.  Of course, if you want
  54. sounds and commentary you should install these as well, but the game
  55. will run without them. Power management on some lap-tops may cause problems.
